While we were shopping in New York we couldn’t help but notice the gorgeous holiday window displays at Bergdorf’s. The amazing display of all out glamour was just so stunning and by far one of the best displays we have seen in a long time (Chanel’s Bombay to Paris display at Bloomy’s is still fresh on our minds!).
The BG Follies of 2012, were inspired by the Hollywood musicals and fantasy shows of the decadent 1920’s. Each window was an “act” like the shows of the eras gone by from an art deco duo performance to a novelty act featuring the cutest daredevil puppies.
The first window we spotted was Act II, “Naughty and Nice” is a tribute to the inventor of the scandalous fan dance, Sally Rand. The window is covered in thousands of beautiful white feathers and adorned with majestic peacocks giving an ethereal feel.
Act IV called: Fifth Avenue’s novelty act features a dazzling look from the Alexander McQueen SS13 collection and 24 plaster dogs performing every trick imaginable.
Last but not least Act V is by far our favorite mostly because of the two enviable custom mirrored gowns by Naeem Khan! The mystifying kaleidoscope mirror is stunning as well we wish we could get our hands on one to add a little sparkle to our walls!
Pictures can never do these windows justice so you’ll definately have to see them in person. Luckily, the windows are on display at Bergdorf’s until January 3! Find out more here.
